About Us

Nurturing Children - Helping Parents

More than 350 youngsters and 600 parents and guardians were helped this year. With our recent expansion, we are now serving 400 children and 1,000 parents. Our program not only meets parents' needs for affordable child care, but the children's needs are fully met as they receive nurturing in all developmental domains in a secure, child-centered environment.

Leonard Johnson Early Learning Center

Children ages 4 months to 4 years learn to build both socially and emotionally secure attachments, develop academic skills to promote school readiness, work on fine and gross motor development, receive nutritional meals and snacks, and participate in hygiene routines that adequately tend to their needs. Developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive toys, learning tools and equipment are all available. The Leonard Johnson Early Learning Center is accredited by NECPA (National Early Childhood Program Accreditation).

Pre-K Expansion

With a state-funded partnership with the Englewood School District, up to forty-five, students participate in Pre-K concurrent with the District calendar and learning goals and objectives. Developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive toys, learning tools, and equipment are all available here at Bergen Family Center.

After School Program

For working parents of 220 children in grade pre-k to 2. Daily enrichment, homework assistance, snack and child-care led by credentialed staff.
